Taxi by Kelly Park, Lauren Scherer, and Siggy Cassuto

Characters:
Alex (the reckless one)
Sam (the cautious one)
Avery (the maniac taxi driver)

Avery: [sitting in the driver’s seat]

Alex: [Waving down taxi]

Sam; [yelling] Hey! We need a taxi! Someone!

Avery: Hop on! Business hasn’t been good for me in the past few days!

Sam and Alex: [gets on the taxi]

Avery: [starts driving]

Sam: Are you sure we’re going under the spee-

Alex: [interrupting and screaming] We’re heading towards a cliff!

Sam and Alex: [screaming]

Alex: Stop! STOP!

Avery: [does a sharp turn] Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.

Sam [takes a deep breath] Okay, maybe we should get off.

Alex: No, it’s fine. Let’s give him another chance.

Sam: Bu-

Alex: [interrupting] We want to go to the movies.

Avery: Yes, of course. [Does another sharp turn]

Sam: [almost falls over]

Alex: [snickers under his breath]

Sam: [very mad expression] Are you doing this on purpose?

Avery: What? Of course not!

Sam: [suspiciously] Okay…

Avery: Well, the voice in my head says I’m not doing it on purpose.

Sam: Alex, I really think we shou-

Sam: [runs out]

Alex: Uh, yeah, I think we should go.

Avery: But what about my payment?

Alex: Sorry, but I gotta go. [also walks away]

My 20 Ideas by Kelly Park

1: When a girl named Kayla moves to a new town, and she has a new home, new school, and new friends, things start happening. She keeps hearing wailing noises from her parent’s room. She asks her parents what they were, but her parents claim they couldn’t hear a thing. And then people start disappearing from her school, especially her friends. On a particularly creepy night, she watches the news and finds out that the people who have disappeared were murdered… but by who? And, to protect the people around her, she veils herself from the world, and keeps to herself. But, this one girl named Laia, even though she know about the murders, keeps trying to befriend Kayla despite the dangers. How will Kayla react? Will she accept Laia’s friendship and risk Laia’s life? Or will she turn down Laia’s request and stay veiled?

2: A boy named Charles is living a normal life until a stranger appears at his house and tells him to come to an old, creepy shop called “Magical Charms For Wizards And Witches”. The shop got closed by the law because of being accused of “practicing evil magic”, but Charles doesn’t believe that, only because he doesn’t believe in magic at all. But when his life is turned upside down BECAUSE of magic, how will he handle it? Will he accepted it and become part of it, or will he refuse it and go insane? And the stranger met him at the shop and told him something… something that sent shivers down his spine, and something that made his old, boring life a new, dangerous one.

3: A little girl of six years old finds a oddly shaped stick that strangely glows and waves it around, ranting “spells”. When she says a particular “magical phase”, “Turn into a frog, Magia!” trips on a rock, points the “stick” at a rock, and BLAM! A blast of light comes out of the stick and hits the rock, and the rock turns into a frog. The same girl, who is now 10, still has the same “stick”. She now believes that there really IS magic. Whenever she gets bored or has to have an adventure, she points the wand at something that isn’t alive, and says the spell and the magic word. For instant, she might say “Come alive and become my companion, Magia!” and the rock would come alive and follow her around. And when she released the rock from his duty, the rock would go back to being a rock. She kept practicing magic, until one day she got REALLY angry and lost her temper. Her eyes started glowing, her hair floating, and disappeared in a tornado of emotion and fire. How will she control her magic? Oh, and also, not to mention, she’s the MOST POWERFUL ENCHANTRESS in her generation!

4: A girl. A girl with a simple and kind heart. A boy. A boy with a complicated, dark heart. It is forbidden love. The girl, namely Jailica, is bullied by a boy named Sander, who calls her Jail. That is, until their teacher assigns them to a project about mythical creatures. Jailica and Sander study together, and Sander stops bullying Jailica. Then, a few months later, they are best friends, and Sander reveals a secret to Jailica. Sander’s name really isn’t Sander… “It’s Solstice…” he says with sadness in his eyes. And Jailica asks him what is wrong. Solstice tells Jailica that her name really isn’t Jailica… It’s something much more powerful, more beautiful, and more… dangerous, he says. Jailica is shook by thi, but she smiles and says it’s alright. And they fall in love. A year later, Solstice disappears and Jailica sets out on a quest to find him. Can she find im and go back to her old life? Or will she give up and find another guy?

GIANT STINKY BABY SPOTTED WANDERING IN MIDWEST! ON COLLISION COURSE WITH MOUNT RUSHMORE! by Kelly Park

The United States of America were all in chaos, but when the giant baby showed up, things got more and more chaotic. The giant baby crossed multiple rivers, it seems, judging from its soggy, moldy feet that left sinkholes all over town.

Now the town stinks of feet and mold, but that’s not all. Apparently the baby climbed Mt. Everest and other cold mountains, because its frostbitten fingers, nose, and toes say it all. The poor baby fell asleep on the London Bridge, thinking it was a bed. When it woke up, the baby started crying so loudly that all of the city passed out! They woke up an hour later, but they claim that they couldn’t hear anything for a half hour.

Meanwhile, the baby had stopped crying and was marching towards the Golden Gate in California! We fortunately could track the baby with helicopters and cars. Once the baby reached the Golden Gate, which was glowing like fire in the darkness, it snatched the bridge right off the road and started playing with it, thinking that it was a toy car or a toy airplane.

The baby continued its path of destruction when a mysterious hooded figure in Illinois spoke to the baby in a soothing voice and coaxed the baby to sleep. As the baby fell asleep, we all noticed that the baby had a black necklace. Then, the figure ripped the necklace off the baby’s neck and crushed it underneath the his/her foot. As soon as the necklace was crushed, the baby started shrinking until it was normal sized, once again.

The mysterious hooded figure pick the baby up, went up to one of the woman in the crowd, and gave the baby to her. “Amari!” the woman cried. She said to the figure, “Thank you so much for saving my baby!” and walked off, rocking the sleeping baby in her arms. As soon as the woman left, people started surrounding the hooded figure and asking questions. “Who are you?” and “Where are you from?” and “How did you know what to do?” and, lastly, “Can you take your hood off?”. The figure reached up to pull back his/her hood, and we all held our breaths. The figure pulled back his/her hood…

Only a little bit so we could see a smile on his/her face. Then, the figure disappeared into thin air! We were all silent for a good minute, and we burst into chaos. Ever since the figure disappeared, this has been on the news for weeks, and the military has been searching for this mysterious person. Who is this person? And will we ever see him/her again? Stay tuned for the next amazing news!

Dogs by Kelly Park

 Love dogs? Me too!

Dogs are obviously the best, but if you disagree, ask yourself, why do you hate dogs? I personally prefer dogs because dogs are WAY more active than cats and play with you.

Cats, even if you call for them, they just ignore you and sleep all day. Sure, they get active once in a while, but please! They just sleep or lay down 20/24 hours of the day.

Did you know that if a cat lives 15 years, it sleeps 10 years of its’ life?! BORING. On the other hand, dogs are active and play with you all day. You can teach them special tricks and they are easier to teach than cats. They can also guard your house from strangers and burglars, but cats can’t.

There is a REASON why a dog is called a man’s best friend, you know. It’s a constant companion!  So, to all the dog-haters in the world, think again.

A Pinch Of Wonder by Kelly Park

Sometimes, A Pinch Of Wonder is all it takes.

A Pinch Of Wonder.
A Bit Of Power.
A Rumble Of Thunder.
A Flash Of Fire.
Is All I Desire.

But Plunder I Do Not Beg For,
For It Harms The Poor,
It Harms Them To The Core.
Their Hearts You Have Tore,
Try Not To Tear Them More.
If You Can, Make Them Soar.

Get Them High Up In The Clouds,
Where They Can Stand, Tall And Proud.
Where They Are Allowed,
To Be Loud.

But You Can’t Fix,
Not With A Bag Of Tricks.
But You Can Fix,
With A Rule Of Six.

Be Kind.
Be Strong.
Be Wise.
Be Helpful.
Be You.
And, Lastly, Follow Your Heart.
