The Willow man by Kevin Samey

Once, there was a man whose wife had unfortunately passed, and everyday at noon he’d go to her grave atop a hill under a willow tree. Everyone in the village would tease him, “Hey, Willow Man, go find something else to do!” The boys would say as they ran of and snickered and sneered. He would ignore them. Parents would tell their kids to “stay away from that man!”  Girls would give him gross looks and whisper stuff into each other ears and giggle and point at him. He ignored them.
One day, a homeless family asked to stay with him. He said they could on one condition- that they go to his wife’s grave as he does everyday. The eldest boy from the other family got a job as a farmer. He became very wealthy, and made lots of crops. The willow man asked for a ¼ share of his crops to feed the family, but the eldest son refused. A few weeks later, the son was found dead. He was using his plow machine until he fell off and was plowed.

The next son was the middle son, who became a builder. He also became very rich. When the willow man asked for bricks, Hay, and wood for the family to build more rooms and such. The middle son laughed and refused. A few weeks later, the middle son was crush by a slab in a construction accident. The youngest son became a lawyer. The youngest son was wiser than his brothers, and made became very wealthy.

When the Willow man asked for some gold coins, he youngest son accepted. One day, The Willow man was in the village to buy bread and other groceries and was beaten on the street. Then the robber took the coins he was going to use to buy the groceries and the robber took a woman’s purse and put in the unconscious Willow man’s arm. People gathered around him as he was arrested and charged with theft.

The youngest son was devastated to hear this, and became the Willow Man’s lawyer. The youngest son, using his immense skill, won and the real culprit was found and arrested. The youngest son was a hero and bought the family a new house and him and for him and the willow man, well, they’re friends for a long time.

The End
